This 4-hour introduction class aims to bring you in touch with the shibari fundamentals. You will be invited to reflect on communication and consent, to speak and to listen with your bodies and to explore the possibilities one single rope can bring.
This workshop is in dutch.
In this workshop, you’ll be guided through a series of foundations designed to help you enter rope with clarity, safety, and embodied connection.
Together, we explore:
FOpen to all levels and genders, no previous experience required. Only curiosity, consent and care.
For duos – friends, lovers, play partners, couples, … – who are ready to touch and be touched by ropes, who want to playfully explore shibari in its essence.

Vagevuur is an Antwerp based rope switch. She discovered shibari in 2021, in search of a way to escape the chronic pain and tension in her body. Starting out as a rope bottom, she quickly picked up the ropes herself by exploring self-tying. Slowly she opened up to tying others.
Vagevuur prefers intuitive ropes over fixed patterns, while also acknowledging the importance of a clean technique and safety awareness. Mostly self-taught through labbing with Shibari Study tutorials and learning from being in ropes herself, she keeps discovering new layers in the art of tying by incorporating elements from different teachers in different styles. Rope jams are her favorite place to practice, to play and to learn from observing others.
Morwen found her way more deeply into rope practice over a year ago, though kink has shaped her for almost two decades now. As a bottom she brings perspective that comes from lived experience. Where playfulness meets surrender, where sensation and tension become a language, she finds grounding presence, and deep connection when being tied. Her sensitivity allows her to read the moment, to feel the energy, and to respond with intention.
She offers her perspective of what it’s like to be moved and held in rope, encouraging to notice nuance, embrace sensation, and understand the dialogue that unfolds when rope is shared with awareness.
Dress in a way that supports comfort and embodied learning. whether you’re tying or being tied. Soft, flexible layers work best: silk, jersey, modal, bamboo, mesh, or lightweight cotton. Avoid stiff or restrictive fabrics.
