The Foundations of Dominance
Competence, grounding, and connection as pillars of leadership.
By Paul Meyers • 7 min read • ENGLISH
This 4-hour class with Marie Sauvage explores Shibari as communication, where rope becomes a language of presence and intention. We will move beyond simply rope technique to focus on how we communicate desires and consent, both verbally and nonverbally.
You will learn simple, beautiful rope techniques while discovering how to guide or surrender through clear, attuned communication. We will also explore erotic pressure points, energetic awareness, and how to use tension, rhythm, and stillness to deepen emotional and physical intimacy.
Open to all levels and all genders. No previous experience required, only curiosity, consent, and care.

Over these 4 hours, you’ll move through a gently structured journey that blends learning, embodiment, and intimate artistic exploration:
You’ll leave with not only practical rope skills, but a deeper sense of how to communicate through touch and how rope can become a pathway to trust, desire, and shared emotional artistry.
For duos, play partners, lovers, friends, or couples; who wish to explore rope through Marie Sauvage’s uniquely sensual, attentive, and artful approach. This workshop is designed for those who want to understand rope not only as technique, but as communication, trust, and emotional resonance.
Whether you’re curious, at the very beginning of your journey, or simply wanting to deepen your shared presence, this space offers a guided, educational environment where both partners learn together.
Limited to 8 duos to ensure personal attention and an intimate, grounded atmosphere. This workshop is suitable for beginners; no previous experience needed. Only openness, consent, and care.

Marie Sauvage is a Paris-based shibari artist whose work weaves sensuality, art, and ritual. Trained at Parsons Paris and mentored by Japanese master Hajime Kinoko and Yagami Ren, she transforms rope into a language of connection, sculpting the body with tenderness and precision.
One of the few women to perform shibari publicly, Marie brings a distinctly feminine presence to this traditionally male-dominated art. Her performances blur the line between eroticism and meditation, where vulnerability becomes beauty and surrender becomes strength.
For Marie, shibari is not about restraint, it’s about trust, awareness, and the quiet power of being seen. Each tie is an act of reverence, each performance a reminder of what it means to feel deeply alive.
Zoë is a rope switch whose practice is shaped by both sides of the rope. Her experience as a rigger informs the sensitivity of her modeling, while her time as a model refines the attunement and precision she brings when she ties. This interplay creates a dynamic, intuitive presence—a fluid dialogue of movement, tension, and the subtle push–pull between rigger and model.
