The Teacher: Vagevuur
Vagevuur is an Antwerp based rope switch. She discovered shibari in 2021, in search of a way to escape the chronic pain and tension in her body. Starting out as a rope bottom, she quickly picked up the ropes herself by exploring self-tying. Slowly she opened up to tying others.
Vagevuur prefers intuitive ropes over fixed patterns, while also acknowledging the importance of a clean technique and safety awareness. Mostly self-taught through labbing with Shibari Study tutorials and learning from being in ropes herself, she keeps discovering new layers in the art of tying by incorporating elements from different teachers in different styles. Rope jams are her favorite place to practice, to play and to learn from observing others.
The Model: Morwen
Morwen found her way more deeply into rope practice over a year ago, though kink has shaped her for almost two decades now. As a bottom she brings perspective that comes from lived experience. Where playfulness meets surrender, where sensation and tension become a language, she finds grounding presence, and deep connection when being tied. Her sensitivity allows her to read the moment, to feel the energy, and to respond with intention.
She offers her perspective of what it’s like to be moved and held in rope, encouraging to notice nuance, embrace sensation, and understand the dialogue that unfolds when rope is shared with awareness.
Dresscode
Dress in a way that supports comfort and embodied learning. whether you’re tying or being tied. Soft, flexible layers work best: silk, jersey, modal, bamboo, mesh, or lightweight cotton. Avoid stiff or restrictive fabrics.
If you may be tied:
Wear something that allows smooth rope contact on skin: soft tops or no top, form-fitted pieces, relaxed layers you can slip off, or lingerie.
Underwire bras, thick seams, or structured garments are not ideal for rope and may be uncomfortable.
Soft shorts, loose trousers, or underwear you feel at ease in if layers shift.
If you may be tying:
Choose clothing that allows full movement and ease: soft pants or leggings, breathable tops, unrestrictive layers.
This is an intimate but learning-focused space. Dress in what allows you to stay comfortable, grounded, and connected, the sensuality will come through naturally as you practice. A changing area and all material is provided.
